The use of graphic displays to show information is increasingly common on industrial equipment, and when it is combined with a touchscreen it is extremely useful for displaying information which would otherwise require a portable computer.

RBZ has experience in using touchscreens on low and high-end microprocessors alike. In the following example, Cortex M3 architecture was used to control a 320x240 3.5” colour screen. When combined with an RTOS and a Free GUI it is possible to create buttons, text and images to create a simple terminal for alarms.

The other design created by RBZ is a portable terminal with an 800x480 7” touchscreen, controlled by an ARM11 and supported by a Linux OS. This makes it possible to use graphics libraries of every kind and it even has 3D acceleration through a GPU which supports OpenGL.
